Community Governance and
Management Capability

Community capacity is an outcome of effective community building processes.

A community has capacity when it has adequate structures and organisations (government, private and community-based) through which decisions can be made, plus networks, leadership, understandings and skills, resources and attitudes that enable people in various groups in the community to contribute to the individual and collective life and activities of that community.

We support locally managed not-for-profit organisations to build on knowledge and governance within organisations.

This programme supports locally managed organisations to understand their roles and responsibilities – services include:

  • Governance induction workshops

  • Strategic planning for organisations

  • Conflict resolution

  • Grant writing workshops

  • Managing your finances – not-for-profit organisations

  • Board appraisal for not-for-profit organisations

  • Policy development and review
