Project description
The Greater Whitsunday Care Alliance (GWCA) initiative is supported by the Queensland Care Consortium Funding round 2. This initiative is a community-led project aimed at enhancing the psychosocial safety and well-being of care workers in the Isaac, Mackay, and Whitsunday region. The GWCA is designed to strengthen the local care workforce by addressing key challenges such as workforce shortages, skill gaps, and caregiver burnout. By fostering collaboration among regional disability and aged care providers, the initiative seeks to create a sustainable and impactful program that supports the recruitment, retention, and professional development of care workers.
Key components of the program include tailored training and professional development workshops, peer support networks, resource sharing, and leveraging collective buying power to enhance the overall well-being and effectiveness of the care workforce.
Through this collaborative approach, the Greater Whitsunday Care Alliance aims to build a stronger, more resilient care community, ensuring high-quality care and support for both workers and care recipients in the region.
