Whitsunday Regional Council Community Plan
The new Whitsunday Regional Council Community Plan 2022 – 2032 was adopted on 13 October 2022. Greater Whitsunday Communities was engaged by Council over a 12 month period, to support the planning process, undertake community consultation, provide Council briefings and assist in formatting the plan.
Our work included participating in the project group to settle the key themes, facilitating discussion with key Council officers to develop strategic intentions, coordinating and facilitating 4 Community consultation sessions, compiling responses and contributing to drafting the new plan.
GWCommunities Senior Coordinators undertook this work which provided an excellent opportunity for building regional connection with individuals and groups in the Whitsunday communities, to hear their ideas and issues, which in turn informs our “bigger picture” understanding of the common issues and concerns across the wider Greater Whitsunday region.
