Pilot Project | Youth Community Leadership Programme

The Pilot for the Youth Community Leadership program, collaboratively developed with Mackay Regional Council, will begin in Term 3 at Mirani State High School. This project has developed out of the YOL1000 Backbone and the MRC Youth Development worker, who approached us to collaborate under our Strengthening Communities work.

Through the YOL1000 project, we have heard young people express a desire to be more involved in matters that impact and affect them. With this in mind, the MRC Youth Development Worker initiated a partnership with the Mirani State Highschool and GWCommunities to develop a program for their students, that will give them some of the basic skills and knowledge to be proactive leaders in their community.
