Leading Australian Resilient Communities Program

Greater Whitsunday Communities has recently been selected as a Group Coach for the Leading Australian Resilient Communities (LARC) program, to support program participants from Charters Towers and Townsville achieve their program goals and projects.

LARC is funded from the Australian Government’s Building Resilient Regional Leaders Initiative, which is a pilot to support current and emerging regional leaders to further develop their leadership and resilience skills so that they can become strong local voices in local change and in times of crisis.

At its core LARC is about place-based leadership, building networks and fostering deep connections within communities to drive positive, transformational change.

As a Group Coach Greater Whitsunday Communities Senior Coordinators will provide intensive group support to up to 20 participants across 2 groups to help them seek out and hear community stories and issues, build connections, develop place-based actions, undertake stakeholder engagement and implement clear decision-making processes.

GW Communities joins a well-established network of LARC Coaches across the nation.
